Now listen here, folks, I ain’t gonna sugarcoat nothin’, so you better sit tight. This whole mess with Jesus Turner ain’t no small thing, I tell ya. It’s one of them stories you’d rather not hear, but can’t turn your eyes away from either. Let me tell you, it’s real sad what happened to that poor little girl, Markiya Dickson. A 9-year-old, for heaven’s sake! Ain’t nobody should be takin’ a life that young, especially not in such a brutal way. That boy, Jesus Turner, he done gone and killed her, and now, the law’s got him good. He ain’t gonna get away from this one, I reckon.
From what I heard, the trial done started not too long ago, and a whole jury’s been sittin’ there, listenin’ to all the evidence. They didn’t take long to come to their decision neither. They found him guilty—first-degree murder, they say. That means he meant to do it, plain and simple. And I reckon they ain’t gonna show him no mercy neither. When you take the life of an innocent child, there ain’t no room for kindness in the world, not in the eyes of the law, no sir.
Now, I’m just an old woman, but I’ve been around long enough to know when folks are up to no good. Jesus Turner, he ain’t no stranger to trouble. He was one of them boys runnin’ with the wrong crowd. Some folks say he was caught up in things he shoulda never been part of. And look what it got him—trouble with the law, a dead little girl, and a life ruined before it even really started. Ain’t nobody gonna remember him for anything good, that’s for sure. You can be famous for all the wrong reasons, and that’s just what he done here.
I heard them sayin’ it wasn’t just him—there was others involved too. But Jesus Turner, he was the one they caught first. They say he shot that poor girl right there in the street, and the whole thing was just senseless. Ain’t nobody even knows why. Why a 9-year-old? What did she ever do to deserve such a thing? Ain’t no good answers to these questions, folks. Just a whole lotta heartbreak and pain.
That little girl’s mama, she done lost everything. And the rest of the family, I reckon they’re all still tryin’ to pick up the pieces of their hearts. You can’t bring back a life once it’s gone. You just gotta learn to live with the hurt, and hope it gets a little easier with time. But somethin’ tells me, it ain’t never gonna feel the same for them. And as for Jesus Turner, well, I reckon his life’s about to change forever. Ain’t no way he’s gonna be walkin’ free after all this.
It’s a mighty shame what happened, and you know, there’s folks out there still askin’ themselves if there’s somethin’ that coulda been done different. But I reckon that’s the way of the world. Once things are done, they’re done. You can’t undo what’s already happened, no matter how much you wish you could. You just gotta try to do better in the future. Make better choices, teach the young ones the right way, and maybe, just maybe, this world won’t be such a dark place sometimes.
All I can say is, if you got kids, you hold ‘em close. You never know what’s gonna happen out there. And sometimes, it ain’t just the bad guys you gotta watch out for, it’s the ones you least expect. Jesus Turner, he didn’t look like the type, I reckon. But that don’t matter now. What matters is that a little girl’s gone, and her family’s gonna carry that pain for the rest of their lives. Ain’t no jury in the world gonna change that.
Well, I ain’t much of a preacher, but I reckon it’s time we all thought long and hard about what’s goin’ on in this world. We gotta look out for each other, especially the little ones. They’re the ones that need us the most. And Jesus Turner, he may not have had nobody lookin’ out for him, but he sure gonna find out now that the law’s got its eyes on him. Ain’t no running from that.
